2009: 1st edition

The first edition of the Beirut Spring Festival took place on the 4th anniversary of the assassination of journalist Samir Kassir. Produced by the Samir Kassir Foundation, the Festival presented a 6-day program featuring theatre, multimedia installation, performance, opera concert, a dance performance conference, a hip hop concert, and a roundtable about the Orient Express book. This first edition gathered talent from Lebanon, Greece, Tunisia, France, Iran, Canada and the UAE in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations (theatre halls, architecture of decay, public garden and a Roman historic site) thanks to the support of 11 partners and the coverage of the press for the pleasure of the participants.
