The Festival's Offer
Open to all, this festival offers events that resonate with a niche and specialized audience, as well as mainstream and folk events that bring together a broad demographic avid of many registers.
Supported by the Samir Kassir Foundation, the Festival stands at the intersection of journalism, freedom of expression, and artistic and cultural forms. In a way, it's also the festival of journalistic freedom of expression in art and culture.
Usually spread over one week, sometimes one month, and this year over three months, the Festival is also present at the major events that punctuate the cultural and artistic life of Beirut in particular, and of Lebanon in general (such as book fairs).
Over the course of three months in 2025, the Festival bolsters an ecosystem in the city, enabling other initiatives to exist with ease, as they benefit from an infrastructure - temporary with the potential to become permanent - to host art and culture, gatherings, events and other expressions, simulations and questioning. In the frame of this trimestre, many initiatives take place in town, many of them in partnership with the Festival.
To strengthen this ecosystem and develop its capacities, the Festival offers free training courses in production, communications, content creation, filming, grant writing, code development and more. In exchange, participants who complete these training courses commit to taking part in one or two editions of the Festival as volunteers. The Festival supports their transportation and food, becoming a year-round talent incubator, increasing donor interest in the Festival, as well as the range of funds the Festival could access - all in the spirit of freedoms, respect, expression, journalism, honest communication, far from the bondage of ideologies, and in service to the realities of Beirut and Lebanon.
The Beirut Spring Festival is a free of charge annual arts and culture programming that celebrates freedom and renewal in Beirut, in memory of Samir Kassir.
