Yassin Al Salman, aka « the narcicyst », is Iraqi and an MC (Master of Ceremony in Hip Hop lingo).
Born in Dubai, he grew up in Canada haunted by existential questions. His musical career evolved through his extensive work with the Euphrate family, a group of Muslim artists that deals with visual arts: musicians, painters, movie directors, and photographers.
He produced two albums with the Euphrate family, A Bend in the River and Stereotypes Incorporated. His specialization in Media Studies was mainly based on the policy of identity and Hip Hop song lyrics, especially regarding the Arab-American experience, in his thesis project that will be published soon under the title Fear from an Arab Planet. He also has a CD, The Illuminarcy, that will be out soon. He currently lives between Dubai and Montreal while the five musicians who accompany him live in Dubai.
