The Badila Ensemble brings together a Persian dancer and musicians from France, India and Iran, who meet at the crossroads of ancestral musical traditions.
Discover the trances of the East and the land of the Mystic Riders, in music and dance, in a colorful, festive and cross-disciplinary performance.
Whether they come from France, Iran, or Rajasthan, these migratory artists relive the great exoduses of the trade routes that brought ancient civilizations together through Islam.
An original alchemy,
Where tradition rhymes with creation and emotion,
Where music sails from the roots of the Orient to the free spaces of the imagination.
Five artists and five exceptional traditions: a journey into new territories of sound, carried away by the billowing sails of dance. Here, the music, the breath, voices and instruments invite to a grand celebration.
Ava Farhang (Iran), the 'Lady' of the group, embodies with talent the grace of the heroines of yesteryear. An enchanting dervish dancer, she is sensually inspired by the mystic Rûmî and spins and spins like a cosmic top.
Javid Yahyazadeh and Sardar Mohamadjani (Iran), the Persian trouvères, exceptional singers and instrumentalists, make souls travel and their marvellous instruments resonate in hearts.
Mame Khan Manghaniyar (Rajasthan, India), an instant virtuoso, sings the great epics of yesteryear with passion.
Bastien Lagatta (France), the ensemble's percussive hinge, imagined this magnificent adventure during his travels in the Orient.
Mame Khan Manghaniyar (Rajasthan, India), Ava Farhang, Javid Yahyazadeh and Sardar Mohamadjani (Iran) are worthy heirs to ancestral traditions.
They possess a fabulous spiritual and poetic heritage of a sacred nature, based on oral tradition and handed down from generation to generation for several centuries.
Bastien Lagatta (France) is a musician and ethnomusicologist of Western culture, a traveller inspired by what he calls "the Melody of Humanity". He has spent many years researching Eastern musical traditions. He is deeply involved in preserving the diversity of the world's intangible cultural heritage.
