Dorsaf Hamdani was born in Tunis in 1975. Since her childhood, she has been working on her talent: a powerful and fascinating voice. After graduating from the Tunis Music Conservatory, she began a university degree in musicology between Tunis and Paris. At the same time, she participated in several major musical events in the Arab world and received a number of prestigious awards: The Young Talent Award in Tunisia (1992), the second prize at the Arab Song Festival in Jordan (1995) and the Tunisian Song Disque d'Or (1996). She performed several times at the temple of Arabic music, the Cairo Opera House, gaining recognition and being approached by internationally renowned maestros: Salah Ghoubachi and Selim Sahab, among others. Their reviews were full of praise.
It is true that Dorsaf is a young singer, but she masters different repertoires: the Arab-Andalusian music of Morocco (Nuba), the classical Arabic singing and the traditional Sufi chant. She sings the difficult verses of Warda, Najet, Fayrouz and Oum Kalthoum as well as the deep Sufi chants with fascinating ease. On stage, she controls everything, but gives free rein to her interpretations to make us happy. Hamdani has participated in several cross-cultural productions, including "Ivresses," a show based on the quatrains of Omar Khayyam. She also paid tribute to three important female figures in the Arab world through both the show and the record "Princesses of Arabic Song". Today, Tunisian singer Dorsaf Hamdani takes on a new challenge with an original creation: Barbara & Fayrouz.
Born in Grenoble, the accordionist Daniel Mille enrolled at the National Conservatory of Music. Open to all trends, he has accompanied artists from various backgrounds such as Barbara, Jacques Higelin, Maurane, Salif Keïta, Lozua Kanza, Richard Bona and Nina Hagen.
In 1993, after the release of his first album "Sur les Quais", he was awarded the Django d'Or for the best jazz album. Daniel Mille is immediately recognized as a leading soloist thanks to the following records "Les heures tranquilles" in 1995 and "Le funambule" in 1999. In the same year, he composed the music for Louis Aragon's show "La valse des adieux", which brought him on stage with Jean-Louis Trintignant. In addition to other theatrical experiences such as Apollinaire's "Les poèmes à Lou" in 2004 and "Vian, Prévert, Desnos", he released the albums "Entre chien et loup" (2001) and "Après la pluie" (2005) for Universal Music Jazz/Classics.
In 2006, Daniel Mille won the prize for best instrumentalist at the Victoires du Jazz and "L'attente" (nominated for the Victoires de la musique) was a great success.
Throughout his career, he has received accolades from both the public and the critics. In November 2014, he released the album "Cierra tus ojos", a tribute to Astor Piazzolla (Sony Music). Samuel Strouk helped him with the arrangements and musical direction.

La Croix – 18/12/2014
